2012 Aquatic Season

The City of Norco Department of Parks and Recreation is currently preparing for the 2012 Aquatic Season and is accepting applications for all lifeguard positions.

Typical Duties:  Safeguard the general public by performing lifeguard services at an assigned swimming pool facility and perform other related work as assigned.

Desirable Qualifications:  Any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge and ability.  Must be at least 16 years of age.

Filing Period:  Applications must be received in the Human Resources Division.  These positions will remain open until positions are filled.  City of Norco application required.  This recruitment may be closed at any time without notice.

Possession of the following valid certificates of training that meet the statutory requirements for Lifeguard under California’s Health and Safety Code:

  • Lifeguard I – Life guarding which includes First-Aid issued by the American Red Cross and CPR for Professional Rescuer or the American Heart Association CPR equivalent, (annual certification required for Red Cross), and California Code Title 22.
  • Lifeguard II – All of above and Water Safety Instructor certification
  • Lifeguard III – Same as above

Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts, dependent upon program needs.  Some summer aquatic positions may require that incumbents be available on a full-time basis from June through September.
